Meds, Mania, and Middle Ground. New blog. Today I talk about mental illness, medication and sticking with the plan of keeping it together. My focus is on what I did and am doing to, ultimately, try to stay normal. Maybe today it works but down the road it won't. Either way, it will always work out if you always know what's best for you. Stay Brave. Link is in my bio. #mentalillness #bipolardisorder #bipolardepression #psychmeds #suicide #lifeisbeautiful #newblog #blogpost #thecuttinglocust
It's been a while since I posted anything. But today I decided to make an attempt at coming back to talk about every day life. In this post I discuss what's been going on while I've been on hiatus and what I've come to learn over the last 8 months. Hope you like what I have to say about hitting the reset button in my life. But this isn't just about me, we all need to hit that reset button every now and then. As usual, link is in my bio. Stay soft. #blogpost #hittingtheresetbutton #life #lifeingeneral #staysoft #thecuttinglocust
Stay Bold. One of the biggest disappointments we have, when it comes to Christianity is the realization that no one - not even ourselves - is perfect. Christians tend to box themselves in (along with God), in a place where only this "sinless perfection" exists. That's not true at all. We even see things like failed marriages and insane lifestyles on social media and think, "They wouldn't be the reason for this, they are so godly." Well, think again. The first step of getting out of the box is truly coming to a place of humility and actually being worthy of the grace and mercy you don't deserve. For myself, I can honestly say that if there was a contest in who can shock who and let down who the most, I would be the the World's Champion. But, I also am connected to real life outside of the box and I understand that as a human being, I am wired to fail. And I choose to boldly do so. So when the time comes to rejoice, it would truly be an act of boldness to stand there naked and bare among all the judgmental church twits - giving God the glory for the smallest amount of mercy. I love this quote by Martin Luther. Even in the most legalistic times, he still understood the true grace and mercy of God. Don't be afraid to boldly be human and embrace the sin in the light that you delightfully embrace in the dark. The outcome will always be an even bolder statement of joy in knowing there is grace. This is the good news we need to be spreading. This is such a simple idea. Really, it's the gospel. ----------------------------- On a side note, this quote is the main theme to my next blog entry. I've taken a break because of life and events and holidays and politics. I didn't want to be fully on the political rant bandwagon - as far as my blog went. But I am for sure squeezing one more entry in before the year ends and it's a good one. #boldness #bebold #staysoft #church #Christianliving #joy #love #sinishuman #quotes #quotestoliveby #christianity #martinluther #churchfathers
Stay Humble. In light of the election, I think the most depressing thing I've seen amongst the self proclaimed Christian people as well as the local church: The lack of humility. It is almost comedic to see the predictable behavior of people who have now blended in with the rest of the angry mob. They all said, "No matter what happens, God is on the throne." Well I say now to that pre-election statement, "He sure is, REMEMBER?" How quickly we all forget the words we say when we think things are going to go our way. But it shows the motives of our hearts when the humility we once exhumed proved to be a farce and non-existent. Jonathan Edwards, if you don't know who he was, was an amazing preacher. People would hear him and leave shaken to their core. He had a reputation for that; and people kept going because of his over abundance of humility. We can still get our message across and be humble at the same time. People will not naturally receive our words if we aren't humble. Humility is the greatest act of love. #humility #humbleness #humbleyourself #christianliving #christianliving #love #life #thecuttinglocust #staysoft
It's time to really offend the fakers out there. That's right, the fake Christians. These are the people that say they know God, act like they know God, said a little chant/sinners prayer and now can do whatever they want without any regard for the Gospel. Well let's get real here: Matt. 12:30 "Whoever is not with me is against me, and whoever is not gather with me scatters." Is abortion for or against #Jesus? Is murder for or against Jesus? Is condoning homosexuality for or against Jesus? Is condoning any sort of sexuality outside of the marriage bed for or against Jesus? We all are inherently evil. #TotallyDepraved. We all have our "things", our skeletons, our quirks, our "thorn in the side." But we all have a choice to choose to fight it. To have faith that God can change these things. During the campaigning leading to this election, I've seen #pastors condoning to support people who are more than obvious, against Jesus. And this goes both ways. It's not one candidate over the other. But when we have Christian leaders telling us they are "okay" with whatever, then we have a problem and they become like Lot, sitting at the gates of Sodom. Against the things of Sodom but that's only his opinion and "everyone has a right to their own opinions". But as Christians, we only are allowed to have two: opinions for Jesus or opinions against Jesus; upon which, we are supposed to choose Jesus over self more often than not. I'm tired of and beyond discouraged to see people I respect, put themselves before their savior. I have begun to realize that in the time we live, when I'm down and looking up, soon there will be no one left for Jesus. Rather than praying for the leader of our nation, we need to pray for the leaders of our #churches. Pray they get their spiritual balls back from the Jezebels of the world. Pray they stand for what is right. Pray they encourage their sheep to not make compromises under the guise of "love." We are either for or against Jesus. That's it. For or against. #christianity #christianliving #election2016 #Fororagainstjesus #prolife #notwithher #notwithhim
